With just 16 hectares, over 97% of which are planted with Chasselas, Calamin's Grands Crus are a rare commodity. A unique soil born of a landslide that is said to have taken place over a millennium ago, this one-of-a-kind terroir containing lots of clay and silt is a veritable diamond. Less elegant than Dézaley wines, they are nonetheless more racy and virile, with a powerful terroir that imbues the wines with a slight bitterness and sappy flavors that show great ageing potential.
We are proud to work in this sumptuous but no less capricious vineyard handed down to us by our ancestors. For us, “family” and “tradition” are not empty words. Let us tell you our story.
